  〔本课选自人教版义务教育课程标准实验教科书《英语》(新目标)七年级下册〕
  【教学目标】
  语言知识目标:学习表述天气状况的单词rain, windy, cloudy, sunny, snow, weather。学习地点名称Moscow, Toronto, Boston。学习句型How’s the weather? It’s +v-ing. / It’s +adj. .
  语言技能目标:学会谈论天气并能做天气预报。
  情感态度目标:分析目前很多地方天气状况恶劣的原因,教育学生为了让全世界都能有好的天气状况,我们应该保护环境,关爱地球。
  学习策略:通过合作学习学会运用所学过的天气知识。
  文化意识:了解英美国家常用谈论天气打开话题。
  【教学重点】掌握表述天气状况的词汇及句型How’s the weather? It’s +v-ing. / It’s +adj. .
  【教学难点】让学生使用本节课学到的语言知识描述并谈论天气。
  【教学设计】
  Step I Lead in
  T: I’m very tired these days. I want to relax. So I want to have a trip with my friend. We want to go to Beijing. But I don’t know about the weather of Beijing. How do we talk about the weather? We are going to learn “Unit 6 It’s raining!” In this class we will learn how to talk about the weather.
  (设计说明:通过教师想要去北京旅游,自然要了解北京的天气状况来导入新课,告诉学生本节课我们要学习谈论天气。)
  Step II New words
  1. Learn the new words.
  T: First, let’s learn some new words about weather. Look at the picture. What can you see in the picture?
  S1: I can see rain.
  T: Yes, it’s raining. We can also say “It’s raining.” In the sentence, rain is a verb. “It’s raining.” describes an action. Rain is also a noun. We can add “y” after “rain”, “rainy” is an adjective. “It’s rainy.” describes a state.
   (Let the students look at other pictures. Teach the students other words: snow, snowy, windy, cloudy and sunny.)

  2. Practice the new words.
  T: Open your books. Turn to Page 31. Let’s do activity 1a. Match the words with the pictures. I will give you two minutes.
  T: Now, let’s check the answer. Who can tell me the answer?

  Step III New drills
  1. Present the drill “How’s the weather?”
  T: I want to go to Beijing with my friend. But how’s the weather in Beijing? Look at the picture of Beijing. It’s sunny in Beijing. When we want to ask information about the weather, we can use the drill “How’s the weather in sp.?” or “What’s the weather like in sp.?” We can use “It’s +v-ing.” or “It’s +adj.” answer the two questions.
  T: I will give you some weather pictures of some big cities in China. Who can ask and answer in pairs? Use the drills “How’s the weather?” “It’s +v-ing. / It’s +adj.”
  S1: How’s the weather in Shanghai?
  S2: It’s cloudy.
  (设计说明:教师通过询问和回答北京的天气情况,教学生学会使用本节课的核心句型 How’s the weather? It’s +v-ing. / It’s +adj. 然后用多媒体向学生展示中国一些大城市的图片,让部分学生练习新句型。)
  2. Practice the new drill “How’s the weather?”
  T: Look at the chart. It has two parts. One part is some cities of Heilongjiang Province. The other part is their weather. Please use this chart to ask and answer in pairs. You should use the drill “How’s the weather?”

  Step IV Listening practice
  1. Learn the names of famous foreign cities.
   T: After visiting Beijing, we want to visit Shanghai and some famous foreign cities. We want to go to Moscow first. Now read after me Moscow, M-O-S-C-O-W.
  Ss: Moscow, M-O-S-C-O-W.
  T: Moscow, it means 莫斯科.
  (设计说明:由于学生不熟悉 Moscow, Toronto, Boston这3个城市的名称,所以设计此环节为学生扫清听力障碍。)
  2. Listening practice.
  T: Open your books. Turn to page 31. Look at 1b. Listen and write these city names in the boxes above.
  (设计说明:训练学生能够听懂关于天气状况的描述,提高学生的听力。)
  Step V Practice
  1. Task One: Make a dialogue in pairs according to the weather signs in the chart.
  T: Look at the weather sign . Do you know what it means?
  S1: ...
  T: Yes, it means sunny. What about this one?
  ……
  T: Look at the chart. Make a dialogue in pairs using the drill “How’s the weather?”

  2. Task Two: Who is the best weather reporter?
  T: Today we are going to be weather reporters. I am going to give a weather report of our country. Look at the picture of our country’s weather. You can report like this “Good morning, everyone! It’s Monday today. Harbin is sunny. Shenyang is cloudy. ... Thank you for listening.”
  
  T: Let’s see who the best weather reporter is.
  (设计说明:为了达到学以致用的目的,设计通过做天气预报来评选最佳天气预报员的任务,强化练习本节课的核心句型,培养学生综合运用语言的能力。)

  T: What have we learned in this class?

  T: Yes, we have learned how to talk about the weather. We must master the words about weather, such as rainy, windy, cloudy, snowy, sunny. We must master the drills “How’s the weather?” “What’s the weather like?” “It’s +v-ing. / It’s +adj.” All of us hope to have good weather every day. But today there are many floods, sand storms and so on. Bad weather has influenceour life. So we should protect our environment. We should care for our earth.
