　　1、Why did the officials turn a blind eye to the crime?为何官员对此罪行视而不见?
　　形容对某件事熟视无睹、视而不见，就可以用这个英文习语turn a blind eye to sth.，在口语中，也经常说成“装看不见”。举一反三，要表达“充耳不闻”就应该用词组turn a deaf ear to sth.。
　　2、He takes to life at Universit like a duck to water.他适应了大学生活。如鱼得水。
　　动词词组take to sth，表示开始习惯于、开始适应、开始喜欢上某事。还要注意，duck to the water(如鱼得水)词组中，介词用to，而不是用in。例句：My little nephew has started school and taken to it as soon as possible.我的小侄子开始上学了。而且很快适应了学校生活。
　　3、The situation is to our disadvantage.情况对我们不利。
　　表示对哪一方不利，直接用be动词加上to one’s disadvantage就可以。再如：The compar-isons were，without exception，to my disadvantage.对比的结果，毫无例外，总是我处于下风。
　　4、It would be a mistake to dance to their tune.和他们周旋将是个错误。
　　名词tune。曲调，调子。整个习语dance to one’s tune，直译就是“跟着某人的曲调跳舞”用中文说，就可以是“听某人指挥，跟某人周旋。被某人牵着鼻子走，对某人唯命是从”之类的意思。
　　5、You’re gonna blow them out of the water.你一定会把他们打得片甲不留。
　　blow sb. out of the water起源于19世纪的海军，最初的意思是，将敌方的军舰打成碎片。现在，通用来表示对对方的决定性胜利，即“defeat decisively”。和汉语中形容大败对方的词“片甲不留”、“落花流水”、有些类似。
　　6、What Would you have done in my shoes?如果你是我，你会怎么做呢?
　　in one’s shoes表示“在某人的立场上，与某人角色互换”。相当于in one’s situation或in one’s position。值得注意的是。名词shoe在这个搭配中要使用复数。例如：You would under-stand my decision if you put yourself in my shoes，如果设身处地地从我的角度想，你就理解我做的决定了。
　　7、He loves music，and above all classi-cal music.他喜欢音乐，尤其是古典音乐。
　　above all在句子中相当于especially，表示“尤其”。例如：Never waste anything，and above all never waste time.任何东西都不可浪费。尤其不可以浪费时间。
